Who are you?

I’m Lidey Heuck. I’m a food writer, recipe developer for NYT Cooking, and (very) soon-to-be cookbook author. My book, “Cooking in Real Life,” comes out next week!

What’s on your mind?

My book tour! Since I mostly share recipes and content online, it’s rare to have a chance to meet face to face with some of the people who make my recipes. I’m super excited to travel the country this spring to do just that!

Where are you right now?

In my office in my house in the Hudson Valley. My husband and I moved up here from Brooklyn a year and a half ago and have been keeping ourselves busy with a million little house projects. Next up, the powder room.

Why do you do what you do?

I love empowering people to cook with simple, delicious recipes. There’s no better feeling than hearing someone look at a recipe and say, “I could make this!” and knowing they have the tools to make something special for their family or friends.
